Fake Twitter accounts are not new. People set up Twitter profiles pretending to be someone they are not. Sometimes, they really want you to think it’s the person they are impersonating; sometimes they’re just trying to parody and have a laugh. You can find amusing profiles of anyone from George Bush to Darth Vader. But, here’s one that we think must be setting some kind of record: Fake Sarah Palin.

Fake Sarah Palin on Twitter

1,723 followers as of Thursday, Sept. 4, 3:11 CDT. That’s 1,723 followers in 17 hours. Amazing.

There is also a FakeBarackObama and a FakeJohnMcCain, of course. But with nowhere near the number of followers of FakeSarah. Whether that means she’s a more or less genuine person, I have no idea.

But no fake Hillary. We’ll leave it to others to supply any punchlines in the comments section.
