Launched Feb. 5, http://livenewscameras.com/ features streams from television stations all over the United States, including Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Kansas City and Atlanta, to name a few. You choose the station you want to follow. Most are Fox affiliates, although the site recently added two NBC feeds and are adding more each week. According to Steve Baron of Fox News Chicago, the site is a still a work-in-progress – service improvements are ongoing.

To use the service, click on any of the video thumbnails to open the stream in the video player in the center. But here’s the cool thing: as you watch, a live moderator appears in the small screen in the upper right hand corner, keeping you up to date on all the coverage. By directing our attention to interesting video news streams to watch, this site leverages the various online video assets Fox News has. The site also posts the most interesting news stories on Twitter. http://twitter.com/livenewscameras.

Here’s an example of some recent commentary:

“Dallas police are looking for two men who attacked a couple in Dallas late Wednesday night. Check out Dallas 1 right now. Meanwhile, overnight snow tangles traffic in Twin Cities. Click on Minnesota 1 to track weather, and if you’re still looking for that last minute Valentine’s gift, at this very moment both Kansas City 1 and Birmingham 1 are giving you some tips.”
